Support Our Services
Each year the Cape & Islands Veterans Outreach Center (CIVOC) serves thousands of veterans and their families living in the Cape & Island region.
Our vision is to end chronic veteran homelessness and our mission is to provide comprehensive, life sustaining services and programs to veterans and their families.
We deliver service-enriched housing and all-inclusive supportive programs to veterans to ensure a lasting reintegration into the families and communities for which they have sacrificed.
Unrestricted donations to The Annual Fund provides the support needed to provide veterans in need a place to call home, access to healthy food, and support from a counselor and case manager.
Over the course of FY20 there were nearly 220 veterans who accessed homeless services on the Cape and Islands. Including those who are near homelessness, on any given night there are over 50 veterans who are actively without permanent housing living in our community.
Please support our Annual Fund so no veteran is left behind to fight their personal battle alone. All donations go directly toward supporting services.
THANK YOU.
Since 1983, the Cape and Islands Veterans Outreach Center is the only nonprofit veterans outreach center for the Cape and the Islands specializing in addressing Housing Assistance and Homelessness Prevention, Mental Health Support, and Food Insecurity. The Center also provides veterans access to partner agencies and services outside of our core focuses.

Housing for Homeless Cape Cod Veterans
The housing project in Dennis is the first of this type of collaboration with a town on the Cape. The Town of Dennis, and the Cape and Islands Veterans Outreach Center and multiple community supporters are working together to build a new, five-bedroom home for otherwise homeless veterans, right within the neighborhoods for which they served.

The Scholarship Program
Each year the Cape & Islands Veterans Outreach Center awards four $1000 scholarships, three to high school students who belong to a veteran family. The fourth is awarded to a student veteran and is given in memory of Captain Eric Jones, a Marine helicopter pilot who lost his life in Afghanistan. Captain Jones’ parents now reside on Cape Cod and are untiring advocates for the support of our veterans. We were honored when the Joneses gave us permission to name our first veteran scholarship awarded in 2015, the Captain Eric Jones Memorial Scholarship, in honor of their son.
The scholarships are awarded directly to the recipient – and not the institution they are attending. The intention is that these funds may be used to offset book costs, lab fees and other costs associated with attending college.
